Last monday, Middle Earth came to life for the first time at The Mackay School, as our English Drama Club presented our own theatre adaptation of the beloved tale by British author J. R. R. Tolkien: “The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring”
It tells the story of Frodo Baggins, a young hobbit who must undertake the dangerous mission of taking the evil Ring of Power to the kingdom of the Elves and decide the future of all, while making enduring friends and escaping from terrifying creatures who seek the One Ring to take it back to its original master, Sauron.
After 4 months of exhausting rehearsals, students from Mackay and St Margaret’s gave life to wizards, hobbits, elves, humans, and dark monsters, in full costume and using perfect English, to portray this wonderful story in front of Senior and Junior School students and teachers.
We want to thank everyone who made this possible!
