Saint Peter’s School took the role of carrying out this year’s ABSCH Writing Competition at Club Español de Recreo. Apart from the writing competition, there was a lovely lunch, a workshop for teachers and a short afternoon tour of a naval ship in Valparaiso.
This year students were asked to write a short story based on a specific phrase. The phrase could be used at the beginning or end of the story, but apart from that students could approach their stories however they liked. The stories will soon be posted online, so please stay tuned.
In the morning, teachers attended a workshop that focussed on the importance of writing in the classroom and ways in which writing can be improved or promoted.
After lunch, both students and teachers were given a tour by the Chilean Navy of the Frigate warship “Cochrane.”
Schools that attended the writing competition were Mackay, St. Margaret’s, St. Peter’s, St. Paul’s, St. Gabriel’s, the Grange, Redland and Wenlock
Congratulations!! The event sounds really awesome! I’m counting every minute to read that fantastic short story that Ignacio must have wrote!! Please let me know as soon as possible when you have it! Really cool activity, and hopefully there are plenty more in this year.
Best wishes!
